ErgoSonic Percussion Introduces New Angled Shell Drum Set
at 2016 NAMM Show
Offers a New Direction in Drum Set Design and Performance
Anaheim, CA, January 21, 2016 — ErgoSonic® Percussion today announced the availability of its latest product, the ErgoSonic Angled Shell Drum Set. The set is being demonstrated for the first time at booth #2564 in Hall D at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show held at the Anaheim Convention Center, January 21-24, 2016.
With a conventional drum set, toms and floor toms project sound down toward the floor. ErgoSonic’s new set leverages the company’s patented angled shell drum design, which allows each tom to be positioned with the batter head at a 15 degree angle, and the resonant head facing forward, parallel with the front head of the bass drum. The result is a drum set with greater directionality, power and sound projection; more tuning options; and a unique aesthetic appeal.
“We offer a new look for the modern drummer, including a distinctive signature offset lug design, chrome accent stripes and the uniform, forward-facing front heads can be imprinted for a custom design,” said Kenneth Turner, president & chief executive officer of ErgoSonic Percussion. “Beyond the slick aesthetic, this unique drum set has more power, punch and clarity than conventional sets.”
In addition, the ErgoSonic Angled Shell Drum Set offers several other significant acoustic advantages:
On conventional sets, toms often lack the rhythmic clarity and definition of the bass and snare drums – the directionality and added presence of our toms and floor toms give our set more punch than conventional sets.
The resonating chamber of ErgoSonic’s Angled Shell Tom is slightly larger than conventional drums, meaning each drum has wider potential tuning range.
The angled shell design provides greater flexibility, as toms can be used with or without resonant heads, with a ported resonant head, or with Kickports or other specialized tuning and muffling devices.
In 2015, ErgoSonic showed its Angled Shell Marching Bass Drums at the NAMM Show and was presented the "Best Tools for Schools" Award in the Marching Arts Category. ErgoSonic was the unanimous choice for the award presented by School Band and Orchestra Magazine.
ErgoSonic will also display its award-winning, revolutionary Angled Shell Marching Bass Drums and Concert Toms as well as it line of marching bass drum rehearsal covers, cases, harnesses/carriers and other accessories.
About ErgoSonic Percussion
ErgoSonic® Percussion, LLC was founded in 2010 by life-long music educator and percussionist Ken Turner. After years of working with bands comprised of students of all ages and drum corps throughout the country, Turner tired of the constraints posed by conventional marching bass drums, and developed the ErgoSonic® Marching Bass Drum, a solution that greatly expands the tuning capabilities of the drum, makes movement/marching easier, and offers performers the opportunity to use the same matched grip vertical stroke used on other percussion instruments. ErgoSonic also offers the E36 Concert Bass Drum, Angled Shell Concert Toms and a full line of corresponding accessories. For more information and to view product photos, visit www.ErgoSonicDrums.
